The dangers of dogmatism in our schools

'We should be concerned about ... ongoing blurring of the boundaries of secular education and the increasing access to schools being given to religious groups, such as the Scripture Union in Queensland, who employ the vast majority of school chaplains in the state. Under the Newman LNP government, the program was expanded in 2012 to include 150 state schools. The program is funded until the end of next year, and at this stage there is no indication on what the current Labor government intend to do.'

Stewart Riddle considers Kevin Donnelly's influence in the recommendationos of the Review of the national curriculum (2014), suggesting that Donnelly's published views on Christianity may have led to undue bias in the report.
